Happy Holidays Party!
About UsWhat Is the TPCA: The TPCA is an unorganized, unregistered, unruled, loose group of like-minded people. There are no officers, directors, dues, etc. Everyone and anyone is welcome to attend the monthly meetings. Starting in 2009, TPCA holds a one-day SWAP MEET for its members, at least once a year. Open to the public, admission is free, table space is charged to cover expenses for the site. Tables may be rented by anyone buying or selling the sort of stuff photographic collectors may be interested in.
Our Mission: The TPCA is an association for anyone interested in photographic history, its processes and equipment. Meetings usually consist of short programs, discussion of current news in the photographic equipment world - old and new - and a "show and tell" of interesting items from the member's collections. Images and techniques are also open for presentation and discussion. Topics may range from Daguerreotypes to digital sensors, and everything in between.
Membership: TPCA membership is open to all who have an interest in collectible photographica: cameras, photos, technology, etc. Membership is completely FREE! There are no dues. Your only cost is participation. To receive meeting notices - only sent via email - please send an email to the address below, requesting to be placed on the mailing list. Most notices are sent about a week before the meeting is scheduled and will contain an announcement of the program for the month. If you wish to no longer receive emails, send an email notifying us of your intent. Send email to: TPCA Membership
Meetings: The Texas Photographic Collectors Association normally meets the second Saturday of every month. Please refer to Events for information about the next scheduled meeting. Each meeting includes open discussion of anything of interest, then a short program presented by one member. This is usually preceded by the always interesting "show-and-tell" by attendees. The meetings start at 10:00 AM and will end by 12 noon. The location is Professional Camera Repair, 4410 Richmond Ave., Houston. This is between the RR tracks and loop 610W. Please drop by and join us for coffee, fun and fellowship. Who knows? You might even drink your coffee out of the cup from the King of Sweden!
